CUSTOM ORTHOTICS
Custom Orthotic inserts are made for patients suffering from foot, knee, hip, leg and back pain. Computerized technology accurately and precisely measures foot pressures throughout the walking cycle. With orthotics, the feet are gently and consistently eased back into the corrective functioning position, helping to improve alignment and decrease pain and discomfort.

Simpler foot orthotics allows the muscles, tendons and bones of the feet and lower legs to function at their highest potential. When appropriately prescribed, orthotics can decrease pain, not only in the foot, but in other parts of the body such as the knee, hip and lower back. As an example orthotics can also increase stability in an unstable joint, prevent a deformed foot from developing additional problems, and improve overall quality of life.

Common conditions treated with foot orthotics include:

  • Excessive foot pronation (flat-feet)
  • Malalignment syndromes
  • Children's problems including in-toe, out-toe and flat feet
  • Neuromas (burning on ball of the foot)
  • Foot pain and fatigue
  • Leg pain and fatigue
  • Knee pain
  • Back pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Arthritis

Breaking in your new orthotics

Your custom designed Foot Orthotics will help correct and maintain the proper alignment and position of you ankle and foot.
Ankle and foot alignment is vital for balancing and distributing your body weight. Your Foot Orthotics will help correct mild to moderate foot problems and reduce associated pain.
You may experience slight discomfort as you adjust to the new orthotics and proper alignment position.

It may take a couple weeks for you to feel fully comfortable wearing orthotics. Some people-are inmediately comfortable wearing them, while others need more time to adjust. Generally, the body does not adapt the change rapidly, and you may experience mild aches or fatigue when you first begin to wear orthotics.

Please read there instructions carefully so that you will have a safe and comfortable adjustment into your new orthotics*.

Wearing Instructions:

  1. Orthotics are NOT ordinary inserts. They are more like putting braces on your teeth!
In this, you will feel soreness/pain during the initial break-in period. This is NORMAL. In fact, if there is no soreness or pain after the first week, the orthotics are not having to do much work and your feet are in fairly good shape already! Follow the wearing plan regardless.

  2. During the first week, do not wear your orthotics while playing sports, during workouts or other strenuous physical activity. After two weeks, you should be completely comfortable wearing orthotics for all activities. If you are not comfortable, you can have your orthotics adjusted. There is no charge for the first six months for adjustments to new orthotics. Normal wear and tear is the responsibility of the owner. The life expectancy of foot orthotics is 2-5 years depending on the type of orthotic, maintenance, body weight and activity level.

  3. Your new orthotics are made from state-of-the-art materials. With typical moderate use and proper care, your new Foot Orthotics should last more than one year. Clean your Orthotics whenever they become dirty, or have an unpleasant odor. Wipe with a damp cloth. If odour persists, you can use water and mild soap. Do not soak it in water. Be sure to rinse well to eliminate unwanted soap residue. Allow the orthotics to dry at room temperature. Direct heat can damage your Orthotics. Do not use a hair dryer, or place it near a heater.

  4. Never attempt to repair, or adjust your Orthotics yourself. Your practitioner will schedule periodic visits to make sure your Orthotics are working properly.
